The possible arrival of Axel Witsel in Marseille does not seem to please everyone.
Free after the end of his contract at Borussia Dortmund, midfielder Axel Witsel (33 years old, 29 games and 2 goals in the Bundesliga this season) is in advanced negotiations with Olympique de Marseille. A nice pickaxe in perspective for the Phocaeans, but the consultant Eric Di Meco has some doubts.
“Having few resources, OM are trying to recruit cleverly and in particular a boy who is at the end of his career. He is from this generation of Belgians who were predicted to win a major international title, and he was one of the captains. He is near the end and that’s why OM could try to get him back. The problem is that we don’t know what physical condition he is in. In terms of experience, he will do good , but it must not be boiled. The old people, they must be managed. You cannot ask them the same thing as the young people in training”, underlined the former Marseillais on RMC.
