The lifeless body of a fisherman was found in his charred vehicle in Waasmunster, in the province of East Flanders. It was the family, without news for several days, who found the body of the victim.
According to information from Het Laatste Nieuws, the fisherman died of asphyxiation after a fire broke out inside the vehicle, which was equipped with a cooking hob. The circumstances of the incident, however, are not yet clear.
Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area pending the arrival of a medical examiner.
