This Wednesday evening, Zulte-Waregem played their second friendly match of the season on the lawn of Harelbeke (0-3). A meeting in which the former Chelsea player did not take part.
Freshly released from Chelsea, Charly Musonda Jr. trains with the nucleus of Zulte-Waregem. However, it has been a few days since the former Chelsea, Celtic and Vitesse Arnhem player did not show up at the training center. This Wednesday evening, while Zulte-Waregem was playing its second friendly match of the season on the lawn of Harelbeke (0-3), the former international hopeful was still not in the group.
Asked about this after the meeting, Mbaye Leye clarified that it was in no way an injury. “It has nothing to do with older injuries or a new injury. It’s a family issue and we knew he couldn’t come all week. He will normally be back next week.”
As for his future, Charly Musonda Jr. still don’t know what it will be made of. The 25-year-old, free from any contract, therefore trains with Zulte, but Mbaye Leye made it clear that it was not a test. “There’s no point in forcing it. Charly is a free player and if he wants to train with us to pick up the pace, he’ll always be welcome. If we think he’s fit and he’s wants to stay, then we can seek an agreement.”
For the record, Sylla, twice, and Hallaert are the scorers of this meeting.
Composition of Zulte-Waregem in the first period: Hubert, Vigen, Ciranni, Derijck, Dompé, Sangaré, Willen, Rommens, Sylla, Drambaiev, Bostyn.
