HASA total of 898 coronavirus-positive people are currently hospitalized, including 47 patients treated in intensive care.
Between June 10 and June 16, there were an average of 66.3 hospital admissions per day due to covid, an increase of 20% compared to the previous reference period.
Between June 7 and 13, 2,432 new Sars-CoV-2 contaminations were detected on average per day, up 79% compared to the previous week.
However, this increase is to be tempered by the postponement of declarations from Monday 6, a public holiday, to the following day, which is included in the current calculation period.
Over the same period, 5.6 people died per day on average while they were carrying the virus (-15%), bringing the death toll to 31,856 since the start of the pandemic in Belgium.
Nearly 11,200 tests on average were also carried out daily, for a positivity rate of 21.7%.
The reproduction rate of the virus is 1.12. When it is greater than 1, this indicator means that the epidemic tends to accelerate. The incidence, which provides the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 230 over 14 days.
