Toto Wolff had revealed it at the end of the Grand Prix of Canada, the technical director of Mercedes F1, Mike Elliott, confirms it today: a direction has been found to develop the W13 and finally reduce porpoising and rebounds.

Very important developments must happen at Silverstone to help this but other parts could follow quite quickly following the discoveries made in Baku and Montreal.

“From my point of view, what’s really good is to see a bit more pace from the car in the race. It’s allowed us to find a direction, we’re starting to understand our problems, we’re starting to make great strides.”

“But we are very realistic, we have our feet on the ground and we know that we have to work very hard still to solve everything. We have to translate this understanding into elements that we can bring to make the car faster and we try to do that. as quickly as possible.”

“The lessons from these races will be used for the next parts. It’s obviously a little too tight for Silverstone but what we have planned will, a priori, go in the right direction.”

“Having run a very good race in Canada helped us a lot. The team really got the best out of the W13, with 3rd and 4th places in the end. But we don’t forget that Perez retired and that Leclerc had to come back. Otherwise it would have been 5th and 6th.”
