On the sidelines of the Canadian F1 Grand Prix, EA Sports and Codemasters unveiled on video (see below) the VR mode of F1 22. For the first time, the official Formula 1 game can indeed be played with a virtual reality headset on PC.
Immersive gameplay footage features stage local Lance Stroll in the Aston Martin AMR22.
“VR is revolutionizing F1 22 on PC and taking the race weekend to a whole new level” said Lee Mather, the creative director of the F1 franchise at Codemasters.
“From the claustrophobia felt while sitting in the cockpit, to the intensity caused by the lights going out as 20 cars accelerate towards the first corner. You will never feel so close to an F1 race off the track .”
Available for F1, F2 and supercars as part of F1 Life, players will finally be able to experience the race weekend from an entirely new perspective. From the garage, players can watch the team hard at work before heading to the grid.
F1 22 will be released on July 1, 2022, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Origin and Steam.
