Lined up against the Netherlands and Poland, Eden Hazard was benched in Wales and has still not played 90 minutes in this Nations League. A situation that questions some, including Jan Mulder.
Speaking on the set of VTM, Jan Mulder seemed not to understand the treatment reserved for Eden Hazard, mounted in the last 20 minutes against Wales. “He’s not playing now. Why?” Is it a question of rest? He rested for months.”
“I continue to find it curious what is going on with Hazard. Why doesn’t he start? And why can he suddenly go up in the second half? What would that be?” Asked the consultant .
Marc Degryse did have an explanation, but the latter is not very reassuring as to Hazard’s potential playing time next Tuesday. “We had the impression that he was not very lively. Few actions… A player who does not have the condition to play 90 minutes… He had played 25 minutes with Real Madrid since the end of February. So we can’t expect him to play three games in a week now.”
