On the web, the Salafists display their opposition to the distribution of animated films in Morocco and go so far as to pose as managers of the media scene.

After having pressed all their weight to obtain a ban on the broadcast of the film The Lady of Paradise in Morocco, a feature film about the daughter of the Prophet Mohammad, the Salafists are calling for the banning of the animated film “Buzz l ‘lightning’ without having seen it. A film whose release scheduled for Thursday, May 16 in cinemas has been banned in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. According to the Salafists, this film encourages homosexuality, harms Islam and society and even threatens the future of young people, reports the Arabic daily Assabah.

In a dozen posts on his Facebook page that sound like “fatwa” and warnings addressed to parents, the Salafist Hassan Kettani pointed out that Satan’s disciples take advantage of a certain laxity in Morocco to try to spread their works contrary to the morals, on the one hand, and to put an end to the “purity” of the lives of Muslims, on the other. He and his colleagues only hope for one thing: the ban on the broadcast of the animated film “Buzz Lightyear”.
