We often forget. But the PTB is in power in one, and only one, municipality in Belgium: Zelzate, a working-class town of 12,000 souls north of Ghent. The Communist Party forms a coalition there with Vooruit, and often uses this case to assure that, yes, they want to gain power.
And it is in this entity that the radical left party wants to conduct its experiments, with a measure that has caused much ink to flow in Flanders: a tax on large companies. A first in Belgium.
