Tahar Rahim joins the cast of Madame Web, Sony’s next Marvel-licensed movie. The French actor will give the reply to Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced and Dakota Johnson who returns to the title role as Deadline reminds us.
If this film, centered on a character from the Spider-Man universe, is scheduled for release in July 2023, no details have yet filtered on the frame. Nevertheless, the launch of this new franchise may appear to be Sony’s response to the Doctor Strange from Marvel Studios, Madame Web having the particularity of being an old woman whose blindness and paralysis are compensated by powers such as clairvoyance and telepathy.
It remains to be seen whether Sony will do as well with Madame Web that Venom: Let There Be Carnage and its more than $500 million at the worldwide box office, or even that Spider-Man: No Way Home and its 1.85 billion receipts which make it the most profitable film of 2021.

Indeed, the star ofA prophet will also be featured in kit bagRidley Scott’s biopic dedicated to Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix, but also in the Apple TV+ series Extrapolations.
On the side of French cinema, we can see it in Don Juana musical by Serge Bozon currently in theaters.
