The next folding Motorola Razr would arrive first in Europe and at a lower price

While it first launched its new folding Razr there in 2019 and 2020, the next model would ultimately shun the United States in favor of China and Europe. With a lower price.

This is the strange rumor propagated by the site Compare Dial and the informant OnLeaks. According to the sources of the latter, the Motorola Razr 3 would first be launched only in China and Europe. However, the famous leaker also mentions a later release on “ international markets “.

The Motorola strategy

International markets is an unequivocal term. Logically, the United States should be included in this denomination. But CNET doubts it. According to our American colleagues, Motorola has taken to depriving certain countries of its latest releases. In this case, to shun those where its devices sell the least well.

However, the Razr Phone 2019 and 2020 precisely underperformed when they were released in the land of Uncle Sam. Sold too expensive (around 1400 dollars, or more than 1300 euros excluding tax), and above all suffering from several problems design, the public will have preferred to turn to the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 3 from Samsung, better finished and more functional.

That being said, OnLeaks says it has taken note of the launch price of the next Motorola Razr. And this could help make this model more competitive as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes out this summer.

A more affordable Razr 3

According to the informant, the Motorola Razr 3 will be launched in Europe from 1,149 euros against nearly 1,400 euros for its predecessor. A discount of almost 18% compared to the previous edition, which brings it closer to the price of its direct competitor at Samsung (1,049 euros) and which is equivalent to that of the Honor P50 Pocket launched recently.

A single model, probably offered in black (sorry: in “quartz black”), and equipped with 12 GB of RAM for all the same 512 GB of internal storage, reports Compare Dial.

For the rest of the technical sheet, it is rumored that the front screen of the Razr 3 would increase from 2.7″ to 3″ and its internal (main) screen from 6.2″ to 6.7″. Under the hood, the folding smartphone would benefit from Qualcomm’s new SoC: the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

The specialized site anticipates a release of the Motorola Razr 3 in China next month and shortly after in Europe. The Americans already envy us.
