Third update for the third beta of Android 13: too many bugs!

androidThe third beta of Android 13 despairs Google. After the release a few days ago, the company took cover in less than 48 hours with a patch containing mostly bug fixes, Android 13 Beta 3.1, and now a second patch is being released, Android 13 Beta 3.2. Let’s see what that fixes. Android 13’s third beta contained a number of new features, including:

– Removed Fast Pair option in settings
– New buttons in system settings
– New UI to set fingerprint to unlock device.
– Wider and thicker bottom navigation bar.
– Ability to enable web search suggestions through the Pixel Launcher search bar.
– Warnings about enabling flash in the At-a-Glance widget.

As we said, the first patch mainly contained fixes and now the new 3.2 beta contains both new (few) and fixes (many). The update (TPB3.220610.004 238MB build on Pixel 4a) is being distributed (here is the page to join the beta program) for

– Pixel 6 Pro
– Pixel 6
– Pixel 5a
– Pixel 5
– Pixel 4a (5G)
– Pixel 4a
– Pixel 4XL
– Pixel 4

Among the novelties of the new Android 13 Beta 3.2, we find:

– Pixel tips have a clearer layout, highlighting the most important points
– notes have two new features:
– sharing is now done via an overlay icon in the lower left corner
– the share button is no longer in the fullscreen editor, and after making changes and clicking “Done” you are returned to the previous screen with the overlay corner still visible.
– As for the Pixel Launcher, there is now a new option to “Always show the keyboard” in the app drawer
– new Google Lens icon, now in the form of a colored camera.

Android 13 beta 3.2: bug fix

Here is the list of bug fixes that seem to plague the new Android 13 beta. As Google states, Beta 3.2 includes “the latest bug fixes, stability, and performance improvements.” Specifically, this update fixes five issues with Android 13:

– Fixed an issue where the “return” gesture did not work in some apps.
– Fixed an issue where the “At a Glance” settings page would collapse inconsistently when scrolling.
– Fixed an issue where some apps would freeze on opening.
– Fixed an issue where the microphone would turn on and off unexpectedly when using the device unbound.
– Fixed an issue where the Google Photos app crashed frequently.
