Tonight on TV: the best time loop film – Actus Ciné

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: Bill Murray finds himself stuck in a time loop.

Between romantic comedy and philosophical tale, An endless day is one of those films that you can watch over and over again without ever getting bored, no doubt because of its timeless concept of the time loop. If the hero relives the same day indefinitely (started at 6 a.m. sharp by the tube “I Got You Babe” by Sonny and Cher), the viewer never feels a sense of weariness, thanks to the right balance between humor and cynicism.

At the top of the bill, Bill Murray, who finds here the director Harold Ramis with whom he has already worked on SOS Fantômes, is at the top of his game by carrying around his legendary casualness. The film also marks a turning point in his career by allowing him to access more serious leading roles. Awarded the BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay, An endless day thus became a cult work.

Groundhog Day by Harold Ramis with Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Stephen Tobolowsky…

Tonight on Chérie 25 at 9:05 p.m.
