Tour de Suisse – rankings after the 5th stage: Vlasov new leader, Evenepoel dropped

There has been a change in the rankings at the Tour de Suisse. Leader since the first stage, stephen williams (Bahrain Victorious) lost his leader’s tunic toAleksandr Vlasov (BORA – hansgrohe), winner of the 5th stage.

If the gaps between the different favorites have indeed increased after this stage, they remain very slim. The first six are held in sixteen seconds, the podium in seven. Everything therefore remains in a pocket handkerchief before the two big mountain stages and the time trial which will close this Tour of Switzerland.

Dropped in the penultimate ascent, Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) is now 19th overall, 2’22” from first place behind Vlasov. The Belgian rider can probably say goodbye to his podium ambitions, unless there is a weekend festival.
