Nobody asked for it, but Meta (ex-Facebook) did. It is now possible to wear luxury clothing in the metaverse.
The company has indeed launched a shop to dress up your virtual avatars. Currently, three brands are available: Prada, Balenciaga and Thom Browne. “Digital goods will be an important means of expression in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy”, explains Mark Zuckerberg, who firmly believes in the metaverse.
The store, which should open soon, should offer other brands in the long term. The price of the “clothes” has not yet been announced. Note that for some of these brands, this is not a first. Balenciaga has already offered virtual hoodies within Fortnite. And on Roblox, there is a Gucci town.
